Co-located on the campus of Dakota County Technical College (DCTC), the Intermediate School District 917 Career & Tech Center (CTC) provides students with hands-on, industry-aligned learning experiences in state-of-the-art classrooms and labs. Students engage with curriculum, equipment, and technology that reflect current industry standards, preparing them for postsecondary education, apprenticeships, industry-recognized credentials, and high-demand careers. Tuition-free CTE programs are available to 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students from Intermediate School District 917’s nine member districts, allowing students to explore career pathways while earning high school credit as part of their regular school day.

  • ISD 917's CTE programs support students along educational pipelines that lead to high-skill, high-wage careers. Our district is part of the Dakota County Perkins Consortium that supports collaboration among local districts and Dakota County Technical College (DCTC) to emphasize quality and equity, encourage and incentivize innovation, strengthen partnerships, and increase employment opportunities for populations who are chronically unemployed or under-employed.

  • ISD 917 staff work closely with each student’s resident school district to coordinate Career and Technical Education (CTE) programming and ensure equitable access for all students. For students receiving special education and/or related services, programming is delivered in accordance with the supports, accommodations, modifications, and services outlined in their Individualized Education Plan (IEP). This collaborative approach helps ensure that students can fully participate in CTE programming while receiving the individualized support necessary for success.
