Record of a Team Meeting

Record of a Team Meeting

What is a Record of a Team Meeting?

A Record of a Team Meeting (RoaTM) is the notes taken during due process meetings. In SpedForms, there is a form on each student's dashboard under the Referral and Evaluation folder. This is where the notes from your meeting should live after each meeting. You will edit for technical writing and finalize the document that will then live in that student's history as a record should you need to refer to it in the future, a parent request the information, or other rare circumstances where it is needed.

The best practice is that we take notes at all meetings where IEP or Evaluation is considered the topic. Intermediate 917 maintains these records via SpedForms.

General Guidance for RoaTM

Ensure you use the ISD 917 IEP Agenda, which includes all areas of the IEP.

Parents should receive a copy of RoaTM with the IEP and PWN.

Avoid using acronyms, and use parent-friendly and professional language

Avoid words such as - thinks, feels, talked about, etc...

Instead, use - discussed, determined, agreed, etc...

See below for examples of RoaTM that are finalized in SpedForms
