Read&Write
Students and staff automatically have the Read&Write Chrome extension available to them from the extension icon(the puzzle piece). They can pin it if they choose. Students and staff then log into the extension with their 917 Google account. These programs can be used at home as well. Anyone is welcome to log into the extension on their personal devices, using their 917 Google account. There is a Read&Write Learning Academy if you'd like to check out all the features or take a look at the handout below. There is also a Scavenger Hunt you can use to help introduce your students to Read&Write. Alternative to Snap&Read iPad App
Many of our students have benefitted from the Snap&Read iPad app. This app allowed them to take a picture of a document that they needed to fill out and they could have the document read to them along with being able to add text or drawings. While Read&Write does have an app, it is only good for reading documents not also filling them out. If students need a replacement for the Snap&Read app, I would suggest using the iPad Camera and Photo app. By adjusting some settings, these apps can do the same thing the Snap&Read app allowed them to do.
